I would like to correct a phrase that I wrote, just previously, to read:

"...then (in the future) our own citizens could well fall victim to its having been misconstrued and mis-applied, as a direct result of S.1959 being poorly-crafted and poorly thought-out and written."

I, also, see something very sinister, in this S.1959 bill. The word "violence", however, seems to be what it is, on the face of it: whether real (physical) or threatened.
The wording that, to me, seems more subtle--and therefore more "subtly dandgerous" to the welfare of "We [sic], the People"--is the following phrase:

"...the [process of] adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating...violence..."

The words that I left out described the kind of violence, in question: "ideologically-based" violence.

It has occurred to me--to my mind--that the intent of this bill is aimed at Islam, in America, rather than at anything else. When I hear of ideologies that foster violence, I conclude that Islam is "one such belief [i.e, ideological] system".

Islam "fits the description" of a belief system that readily resorts to "ideological violence", as a way of achieving its ends. It [Islam] does this, wherever it is found (in whatever country), around the world.
The Qu'ran [viz., Koran] is THAT religious book that promotes, fosters, and foments violence, within its membership.

Perhaps, there is growing evidence (accumulated by our FBI and CIA agents, within the country) that Islam, on American Soil, is in the process of becoming clandestinely more violent: in its schemes, plans, and covert activities, within American mosques, and other venues.

If the above is true, then I see this Senate Bill as a way of acting pro-actively, should the Muslim extremism be found to be escalating its home-grown plans for violence; terrorism; and vengeance, against the American People and/or against the U.S. Government.

IF, however, this bill is poorly constructed and overly ambiguous, then our own citizens (in the future) could well "fall victim" to its having been miscontrued and mis-applied--as a direct result of being poorly crafted and poorly thought-out and written
