The bailouts have had one stimulative effect: they have galvanized taxpayers who are finally so fed up that they’re speaking out against the leviathan government that has stopped listening to We the People. Yesterday, dozens of “Tea Party” protests were held around the country. They were all relatively small, numbering 100-300 people, but these were organized in less than a week.
We believe that as time goes by, more of these “Tea Party” protests will crop up all over the United States. For too long, people of good conscience have remained silent. They have remained silent because they were chastised for years as being “intolerant” or “closed-minded” because they disagreed with abortion or gay marriage; as being “racist” for opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants; as being “cold-hearted” for opposing welfare, Social Security, food stamps,S-CHIP, and Medicare; and for being “greedy” for wanting to keep what they earn instead of pay “their fair share” of taxes.
It appears that these people of good conscience have had enough, and are going to remain silent no more.
The origin of these so-called “Tea Party” protests was an on-air rant by financial analyst Rick Santelli who criticized the government for rewarding people who made bad decisions, and said that the rewards should go to “the people who can carry the water, as opposed to those who drink the water.”
