"There are five boxes to use in the defense of Liberty: The Soap Box, the Mail Box, the Ballot Box, the Jury Box, and the Ammunition Box. Please use them in that order."

That explains a lot

Last week, we told you how under the Obama administration, the federal deficit has risen $962,323,000,000 in his first year in office alone. How fast are we spending money? Well, the Congress hasn’t even voted to approve expanding the debt limit to $14,300,000,000,000, and we’re already on track to hit that debt limit by then end of February. That’s spending at a rate of $2,000,000,000,000 in a month. How can this be, you wonder? Look no further that the Boy Wonder in the White House. One day he’s saying that “You don’t blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you’re trying to save for college,” the next day he’s saying we need to spend $8,000,000,000 on choo choo trains. The problem is that Obama and his friends are great at spending money, but not so good about paying their bills. Just ask Springfield, Illinois. The town is still owed $55,457 from his 2008 presidential campaign.

We wonder how long We the Taxpayers will be paying for his 4 year presidential spending spree.

Uh, but wait, um, come back…

The whole global warming climate change scam is dangling like a chad. Hacked computers brought us the emails and falsified data of ClimateGate. Record cold temperatures and blizzards have damn near everyone rolling their eyes at anyone who was still preaching their green religion. Now these headlines come along:

Despite all this, Obama’s State of the Union address, he said that we need to pass “a comprehensive energy and climate bill.” Is it any wonder Obama’s approval ratings are falling faster than the snow in Washington D.C. this weekend?

Wasn’t he supposed to fix that?

Ah, remember when Barack Obama pledged to fix the United States’ relationship with other countries? And some people elected him saying that we’ve done too much damage with the “cowboy diplomacy” of George W. Bush? Well it seems that if Barack wants to polish our image with other countries, he needs to work a little harder with the Kiwi Black. Zhang Xiao’an, the deputy head of Chinese Embassy in Israel, said in a special interview that ties between China and the United States have “deteriorated over the past year.” Is it any wonder the British gave him an “F” in world leadership? Uh…. can we have the cowboy back?

Those who don’t learn the lessons of history

Last week we mentioned that Obama is repeating some of the same mistakes of Herbert Hoover. Hoover infamously raised tariffs on imported goods; Obama is doing the same. In reaction to Hoover’s tariffs, other countries imposed tariffs on goods they imported from the United States; in reaction to Obama’s tariffs on electric blankets from China, China has enacted tariffs on chicken coming from the United States. Hoover’s tariffs plunged us into the Great Depression; Obama’s economy has shed another 170,000 jobs since Thanksgiving.

Will someone in the White House please pick up a history book?

If it’s not broke…

We find it interesting that despite the fact that everyone from Barack Obama on down is telling us that our healthcare system is “broken”, foreign people keep coming here for healthcare. Like Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams, who will undergo heart surgery later this week in the United States. Despite hailing from that bastion of top-notch “free” government-provided healthcare known as Canada, when his own ticker needs a little work, he comes to the good ol’ U-S-of-A. Which begs the question: if we socialize our healthcare to be as bad as everyone else’s, where will everyone go to get their operations done?

Speaking of questions begging to be asked…

Behind door number one, we have a story stating that unemployment is still on the rise, especially in metro areas. (That “stimulus” is doing great, isn’t it?) Behind door number two, we have another story stating that the federal government’s payroll has swelled to a record-breaking 21,500,000 employees. So we wonder: since the people paying the salaries of the government employees are the private sector employees, when will there not be enough tax revenue to pay the government employees? Oh wait, we passed that point YEARS ago.

Because THAT’s important

Increasing unemployment. War in Afghanistan. Terrorists who are still trying to kill us. Saber-rattling from Iran, North Korea, China, and Russia. In the midst of all this, Barack Obama decides to focus on…. college football? And gays in the military? We wish we were kidding.
